If you have decided to proceed with surgery, please follow the steps outlined below:
Please confirm a preferred date of surgery. If you are calling within the U.S., a phone call is usually easiest (404)240-2804. You may also email a preferred date, and we can confirm the date by email. A deposit is required to reserve a date. You may email your surgery concerns or inquires to email@example.com.
The following patients may proceed with surgery without further evaluation prior to surgery if:
- You do not have any significant medical problems.
- You are under age 40.
- You have a clean bill of health documented in the form of a physical exam, a normal hematocrit, SMA -7 and a normal blood pressure.
*If you have any medical problems or are age 40 and over, you may need to obtain a medical clearance evaluation prior to surgery. If this is the case, Dr. Lisa Bootstaylor normally obtains a CBC, SMA7, an EKG and a medical clearance letter. You may have your doctor fill out the preoperative clearance form and fax it back to us at : (404) 240-2805
You must stop taking any pain reliever for two weeks prior to surgery. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Midol, etc. The only pain reliever you may take is Tylenol. You must discontinue any herbal medications or other over the counter medications. If you are currently taking these or other medications under a physician’s recommendation, please let us know so that we can determine it they will interfere with surgery. In most cases, you should continue your other usual prescribed medications (blood pressure medications, diabetes medications).
You should not be pregnant, have a fever, an upper respiratory infection (a cold, bronchitis) or a urinary tract infection at the time of surgery.
We look forward to helping you with your surgical journey!
